I don’t usually post blog entries that are just pretty pictures. But I did want to share these images with you because….well, just because.
The colors in the market are so vibrant this time of year that it’s hard to put down my camera and actually pick up a vegetable. I love zucchini and tomatoes as much as the next girl, but enough is enough. I’m really ready for pumpkins, squash, radicchio and cabbage. I know come March I’ll be sick to death of these too, but for now it’s total love.
Also there is something about the vibrancy of the colors that seduces me. The bright summer sun has finally dimmed, clouds make their appearance and as the temps start to drop, the warm oranges and reds, vibrant greens and brilliant purples make me want to grab as much as I can and run home to cook.
Which is what I’ve been doing.
Since I haven’t had much time to work on new recipes, I’ve been turning to trusted favorites. Here are a few that you might want to try too:
Radicchio Pear and Walnut Salad
Radicchio Salad with Guanciale Dressing
Let me know what you’ve been making with all the pretty produce. (besides just centerpieces of course)
Most of these photos were taken at the stand Da Claudio, which is very well known for their extravagant displays.

Now I AM guilty of posting just pretty pictures, so I give you mucho credit for not relying on that, especially as it would be so very easy for you to do!
We just got back from another weekend in the Luberon (hooray!) and so I haven’t hit the markets yet for the good stuff…yet. Although I did eat the most perfect pear today. So, I will just take from you (these recipes are all exactly what I want to be making) without giving back–sooorry!! 🙂
