I keep thinking ‘that’s it’ for the Iceland posts.
And then I realize I still have photos – and experiences – like these to share.
Yes, the famous Blue Lagoon was as incredible as it looks. In fact, these photos barely do it justice. The bus ride from Reykjavik was across a barren and snowy lava landscape. Finally, in the distance, we spotted steam rising up into the air.
Out of our parkas, into our swim suits and a mad dash across the frigid wooden platform to land in this incredibly blue, hot and impossibly wide natural pool.
As the wind changed direction the mist would rise and fall. Everyone’s voices were muffled. It truly felt as if we were on another planet. At least it wasn’t like the Earth I had known up till now.
Thank you Iceland, for being so breathtakingly, beautifully different. I’ll be back soon. Promise.

I was in Iceland as a guest of the Food & Fun festival, and my airfare was compliments of Iceland Air

To me Iceland is one of the most beautful places on earth. We visit the Blue Lagoon but we also enjoyed stopping at some of the “hot pots” that we found all along the countryside. One windy and cold evening I loved running for the hot pot outside and getting “warm to the bone”. We were at a wonderful small hotel called Fire and Ice. We were only there a week…definitely going back.

Ooh, not something I would have heard about otherwise so thank you! I have only stopped over at the airport en route to Russia and yet the scenery was so magical it really made me want to go back!
