One of the reasons I wrote my apps Eat Italy, EAT FLORENCE and EAT VENICE was that I wanted an easy way to respond to people when they asked me “Where should we eat when we are in [fill in the blank]?
Writing my apps was a lot of work but well worth it since now not only my friends, but anyone, can download all my favorites in a handy, nifty app. And I don’t have to answer all those emails anymore
Of course, there are a lot of places not covered in my apps. So when I receive questions about places like Chianti and the Amalfi Coast I still have to respond: sorry, don’t know.
Until now.
Two of my very best friends just came out with two awesome apps that answer these very questions!!
Amalfi Coast Travel Essentials is by my friend Gillian (yes, the Gillian that’s always popping up on this blog). She’s an app pro, having already written Rome for Expats. Amalfi Coast Travel Essentials takes you to all of her favorite places along that magical part of the world. Beaches, bars, boats. And food, lots of food.
Chianti Food and Wine is by my friend Judy, who has been living in Italy even longer than I have. Her work teaching cooking classes and leading private groups around Florence and Tuscany has resulted in a treasure trove of places to eat, drink and absorb everything from big bistecche to pungent pecorino.
So please. The next time you have a question about Chianti or Amalfi, don’t ask me. Talk to the apps.
AMALFI COAST TRAVEL ESSENTIALS is available on iTunes and Googleplay for Android.
Gillian’s blog, Gillians List, is a great resource, as is her other app, Rome for Expats.
CHIANTI FOOD & WINE is available on iTunes . Judy also has a delicious blog, and leads equally delicious tours and cooking classes.

Yay! I’ve been itching for an Amalfi Coast guide.
Elizabeth
Just ordered both! Thank you.
Julie
Has the Amalfi app been changed in Google? I cannot find it. Thanks!
Elizabeth
Hi Julie. The Amalfi app no longer exists. The content is available now through an ebook. You can find the link to that, as well as much other information on that area of the world, at Gillian’s site : http://www.gillianslists.com/
